I cannot get enough of the peonies this year. Or really, any year for that matter. I'm scooping them up by the bundle every time I see them at the grocery store. I'm going out to the garden with my scissors and cutting them to bring inside. They are sprinkled throughout the house, but mostly are found in the kitchen, because, let's face it, that is where I am most often found. And I painted them. That was new and fun, too.
So pretty so see them all over this post.
you = peonies to me, always!
that painting is gorgeous.
and happy birthday!!

Love, love, love the painting. Really.
I love peonies too. Have not had much luck growing them but I have a friend who shares hers. Love your painting.
you know, every time i see our peonies–new to me, since moving to ohio, four years ago–i think of your post, years back, which ran along the lines of, “here come the peonies…” they are such a harbinger of spring for me, now, and mother’s day, and almost-summer, and slam-dunk-drunk heady perfume.
they are so good. as is the painting. love it.

I didn’t know you painted too.
Do you sell your paintings?

Hey – it’s peony time in Connecticut too! My one and only hot pink peony bloomed today, and all my shell pinks are beginning to bow down low . . . Take care, Byrd
What a gorgeous painting!! They are pretty special flowers… I’m going to try and put some in my garden here in Melbourne.. Do you plant them in winter?
I love peonies. I have several plants but am forever jealous of Martha Stewart’s rows and rows of plantings at her home. I buy blooms every chance i get during the season to fill a large vase on my dining room table and they make me smile every time I walk by. I think my favorites are the double ruffled blooms (though they don’t last as long).
So jealous! I love peonies, but I am having a hard time getting them to grow in my garden π I’m hoping they’re just planted too deep…
Gorgeous peonies – where I live in New Zealand I can’t grow them, cos our winters aren’t cold enough, and unfortunately they’re too expensive to buy. I will have to live vicariously and enjoy yours.
WOW.
I’m so jealous! I can barely grow a cactus. π Peonies are one of my favorite flowers.

peonies and “erin green”. your signature. and i am SO in love with this painting. hang it in your new work/studio. it’s amazing!
Beautifully painted. I have a love hate relationship with my huge peonies. They always start blooming and get crushed by rain…without fail. Just cleaned up the mess tonight.
Beautiful painting!
