I appliqued some flowers on to a maternity t-shirt for my friend. The flowers came off of an Alexander Henry print leftover from this shirt.
The light is horrible in this photo, but the shirt was given this morning and I didn’t have a chance to take another one. The color is more true in this detail shot.
I find these appliques extremely satisfying. I like looking at what I already have and trying to use it in some other way. My friend liked it too.
And just because, here is a photo of a beaten egg. The girls and I found ourselves alone for dinner the other night so I made pancakes. I really like the yellow in this picture – something about this shade is making me smile.
Happy Friday!
It’s been a while since we’ve seen an appliqued shirt here. I like! It’s got perfect bold colors and a nice graphic shape. And breakfast for dinner is my favorite – we’re having eggs tonight because of this post.
My kids love pancakes-for-dinner nights. So do I for that matter.
Great shirt, too!
Cute shirt. And FREE! Egg yellow is a nice yellow. Imagine taking that to the paint store to match. Hee hee – just my funky sense of humor.
Okay Erin, you’re freaking me out! I just bought some solid tanks to do applique like that.
I love the applique. What a great way to make a black shirt unique!
have a wonderful weekend, erin!
Cute shirt! I just might have to try putting an appliqué on a t-shirt sometime soon.
Those friends of yours, WOW, lucky, lucky gals!
I wish I had something like that when I was pregnant!
Have a wonderful weekend!
I love the placement of the flowers on that black tee! And speaking of applique, my son still adores the rocket you made for him, and we get so many compliments on it!
I love, love, love the shirt! I have a whole stack of plain t-shirts that I want to (need to) add something to — but I still am afraid to try know how to applique. I must learn this thing! I wish you were my neighbor and I could pop over for a tutorial. 😉
What a nice gift! I like the style of that shirt, too! The flowers fit the style very well.
Was is difficult to keep the knit fabric from stretching while appliqueing cotton to it? I’ve wondered about that. I really want to try embroidery on t-shirts but I’ve heard it’s pretty hard to do…
Thank you, Erin, for sending me the moo card samples. They look like so much fun—I’m going to have to get around to having some made.:-)
lovely shirt.
wow, you sure jazzed up that shirt! it’s lovely.
How sweet of you!
I”m sure your friend will love it. You are very clever 🙂
Pancakes are definitely a dinner food in our house too. Love the top Erin and the flowers look really sweet. Have a great weekend.
