Hello from school auction art project headquarters. I am *this* close to being finished. The advent calendars need a dowel rod and ribbon for hanging and the play tents need their bamboo poles. I also have to pick up the 8th grade photography project and pop those into their frames. I'm almost finished clear coating the outdoor furniture and rain barrels at school – one more coat for each piece. Then, on Sunday, when it's all over I'm going to take a big, fat nap.
In the meantime, I'm thinking about dipping my toes back into the shop waters with just a few camera straps. Any color combination requests? I can't promise anything, but I'll definitely consider any ideas.
Oh my goodness, Erin are you doing this all yourself!?! I hope you have help, because that sounds like a ton of work.
It all sounds really fun, though š
oh i would love mustard yellow (of some sort) & gray! i love your camera straps so so so so much but never seem to get to them in time. hopefully this time i will be successful.
erin, you crazy girl – i thought you were just in charge of your girls’ classes? but all of them?!
i would love to see aqua/pear green straps. i think i’m ready this time. i’ve come THIS close to buying one from you so many times. š
I seriously don’t know how you find the energy to tackle all of this. you are amazing!
you are a nut! you should be pondering a pedicure or a massage right now, not camera straps!
but, I could use one more strap…for a camera I’ve been scraping and saving for over the last 2 years. no color requests, I have a hard enough time deciding which is my fav when I take a peek at your shop updates.
I can’t wait to see these finished projects!
I’m so eager to see the parade of finished auction items.

I wish I lived closer to attend the auction. So many creative items. The kids and I did some batiking today. I am excited to paint tomorrow and see the results. Thanks for the idea.

You are so close!
You are so close!
you are a marvel, my friend.
i’m sitting next to callie’s camera-which really isn’t so great anymore, so is underused (the girls brought it to the city with tim today…) and thinking, hmmmn, that’s a darn nice strap there. wonder if it would fit on the hassy…
but no, i gave it to callie.
i guess she needs a new camera more than i need a new strap.
i truly admire you for the work you do for that school event, erin. i’m sure lots of people in the school do, as well.
xoxo,
tara
wow, each class project looks amazing! Two years ago, after seeing your play tents, i made these same tents with the youngest kiddos at our montessori school (all my kiddos attend public school now). Then I had to drive over an hour to a home depot that carried the right size bamboo poles – the ones at the store near our house were way to thin to support all that canvas. Your projects will do so well at the auction – and these days schools can use every penny!
I think there’s a book in your art auction projects… could be a coffee table book with how to’s included!
Jeez, it sounds like you are a one woman auction whirlwind – what are the other parents doing??? Looking forward to seeing all of your efforts on display (and hearing about all the money they raise!). Good on you for all that volunteering, Erin! I’ll be painting Adirondack chairs with my daughter’s class next week….
OK, so I can see that you are swamped…but, I would love to see pictures of and a tutorial for the rain barrels. I purchased two plain white ones at an auction, and really would love to transform them!!! Thanks! Love your site! Snow day in Seattle, so we are going to make a couple of Wee Wonderfuls!

(2012 is fine.)
