Monday and Tuesday were not good days for me. Yesterday was slightly better. The sun is shining. I'm considering it a sign that all will be right today, too.
I have a lot racing through my mind. We are getting ready for a construction project and it's commandeering most of my thoughts. There is a lot of work to be done and I need to start doing it. I'd much rather sit down and make a quilt or sew some summer clothes, but it's not going to happen right now. Looking at this pile of fabric and dreaming up the possibilities is going to have to suffice. (It's Joel Dewberry's Modern Meadow and I kind of have a crush on it.)
I'll be back when I have something decent to say or show. Until then, take care.
Constructions can be very stressfull but the end result can be very rewarding and breath taking just like your crafts.Take each day as it comes.
Good luck with it.
My husband wants to put an addition on our home. I know that it would be the death of me. It’s so not going to happen. Good luck!
take care of you, e. xoxo
Hang in there! This too shall pass.
I hope everything is brighter today!
those fabrics are just lovely! I hope you have a good day!
It never ceases to amaze me how often I am in a kind of emotional sync with a blog friend–that mind racing you’re talking about? Describes me to a “t” right now. Here’s hoping it passes soon–for you and for me.
I love your site; it is my homepage when I open my web browser and it is a good choice. I will have to take a closer look at Joel Dewberry fabric designs! Thank you for showing them to us.
I must say that I understand the ‘healing powers’ of sewing, housework or to use a fancy term ‘craft’ in our day to day lives especially when coping with other stresses. I know it works for me and afterwards, I can look at the ‘quilt’ or ‘skirt’ or ‘apron’ or ‘new curtains’, and think to myself…”ah yes, that was when I was really upset about…..” It really does help me get ‘through’ things, and it is a positive stress relief!

I have been waiting to see that fabric, wasn’t sure when it would be for sale. I love it too. So pretty yet all grown up! My hubby is a builder so I can relate to the construction stress. We deal with it daily! Good luck and try to have fun with it too!
I have a crush on that fabric too. I’m in trouble.
Home construction is so all-consuming! I haven’t done it for a few years, but when we last did a big project it occupied every inch of my brain.
Have a great weekend!
The sunshine today has been inspiring and is slightly better than the last few days! I think we will have a pretty day on Monday! Those fabrics are inspiring too.
such a pretty spring banner. our backyard is a disaster area right now b/c of major pool renovations. I just keep thinking that in a couple of months it will all be behind us. good luck!
LOVE your new pinky blue banner design. Hope you can rest up and re-boot over the weekend. Don’t worry, everyone will be here when you get back.
being in the moment is the only way to be with a house project (gut kitchen rehab = + two other rooms in four months survivor here) so try not to beat yourself up on the lack of time or energy to create. it will come back in odd and unexpected moments of chaos….good luck with all of the decision making.

Good luck with your construction. I know how stressful it can be, even just for little projects. Take care and we’ll be here when you’re back 🙂
Love your new banner! We just built a house and during the process I was so stressed–it seemed like every time something came up towards the end it was another $5K. Courage! Once it’s over you will be so happy and might even look forward to the next project (like we do).
Your new banner is so pretty. Sorry about the week not being great. Here’s to the little light at the other end.
What a cozy lovely blog you have! I haven’t been lurking long, but long enough that i’ve decided to bestow upon you the Beautiful Blog award. You can see what it’s about at http://www.sweetbeebuzzings.blogspot.com
oh boy, do i feel your pain. since buying my first house in november, it has taken over my life! gutting the kitchen, painting, wallpaper removal, deliveries and contractors coming and going…it is stressful and hard. the end result- totally worth it! but just try to make a little time everyday for crafting, i totally let it go, and regret that!
The appearance of sunshine makes all the difference in the world. Maybe you can find a sunny spot to ponder the upcoming construction. Have a good weekend!
LOVE your new header!
here’s to a sun shiny weekend to you, erin! xx
Yum. Now I kind of have a crush on that fabric, too. Your new banner is a lovely breath of springtime.
Hi!
I’m sorry you’re in a bit of a funk. It’ll get better.
I love your pretty new banner.
Love all the way from Australia,

Real life can be such a drag. Take a peep at that new banner up top there; those ranunculas cheered me right up. Hang in there.
i just realized that i keep coming back here just to admire your new banner. ranunculus really are the prettiest, aren’t they? your lovely photo really captures everything that i love about them. also, i too am smitten with modern meadow. every single print speaks to me in its own way. soon, i will have some of my own to create with!
Wishing you sunny days ahead:-)
Love your new header! Hope you’re finding your happy place amidst the chaos.
Lovely Pin cushion! So pretty, and the tutorial for the girls twirl skirt looks fun, i think i’ll give it a go for my little girl this summer! Thanks so much!
