I can say it, but I am not sure I can spell it. Ranunculus. It doesn’t show up in spell check either so I am just going with it. I have always liked these flowers. The remind me of peonies and roses, but they have foliage and buds that are kind of weedy or something. More mundane, but so incredibly beautiful. Just catching a glimpse of them is putting a smile on my face.
We are off on our spring break adventure tomorrow. Enjoy your holiday weekend and don’t be like me and eat too many jelly beans. I think I have already overdone it and it isn’t even Easter yet.
Oh, beautiful! Are they from your garden?
And you spelled it correctly, by the way:
ra-nun-cu-lus, n. pl. ra-nun-cu-li
Any of numerous plants of the genus Ranunculus, including the buttercups.
Ahhh making me want to put some in my garden again. I put them in last year but the caterpillars LOVED them WAY too much.
I kind of think these don’t grow here, because I never see them. I do love them though. Peonies and big, full English roses are some of my other favs, so I guess I have a flower type.
Have a good trip!
I love ranunculus, too. I used to grow them when I lived in New Zealand.
Beautiful, one of my favourite flowers.
Oh the spring I am having is so different than yours! Those flowers are delightful. Have a good weekend.
Love the ranunculus – funny word though. They are like beautiful cabbages.
beautiful! and i hope you are going somewhere fabulous for spring break!
Oh so pretty. Can’t wait for spring here. My favorite flowers are lilacs + peonies! fragrant and beautiful.
Best for a super spring break! It’s too late for me on the jelly beans!
those are one of my favorite flowers too!! i have NO idea how to spell it, so i defer to your spelling! enjoy your spring break! its cold as anything here right now.

erin that top picture is gorgeous! against that beautiful green background. lovely. have a wonderful holiday!!!
They are some of my favorite, too! They’re like a little surprise flower since they don’t have the big fame of roses…
Those are so beautiful. Now I need to go find some!
Thank you for introducing me to a new flower! I hope they came from your garden! Snow is almost gone here so am hoping to see some early spring tulip foliage soon!
Such beautiful Ranunculi :o) Have a great spring break adventure.
they are so beautiful!
we had ranunculi (???) at our wedding! i love them too! they are so pretty yet so wild.
Seeing these makes me miss living in San Diego. We were just minutes from the Carlsbad Flower Fields where most of these come from. Hillsides covered, covered, covered, in gorgeous buttercups!
Happy Easter!
P.S. I made Emma a twirly skirt and she twirled and twirled and twirled and twirled… It was a huge hit!
one of my most favorit-est flowers! right there with peonies, lilacs and hydrangeas. 🙂 love the green background too.
I like those flowers (as I call them, avoiding the whole ranuncu-what? issue althogether) too. Have fun on your spring break!
They are gorgeous!
