2010 was the third year that I took a photo (almost) every day. I'm missing 2 or 3 over the course of three years – not bad! One of the reasons that I continue to do this every year is that I love looking back and having memories of our every day life, of the little moments that make up our days. This year, I decided I'd compile the least memorable, but still recorded moments of the past year month by month.

Most of these are every day life types of scenes – things that don't mean much to anyone other than me. I find it interesting that I glazed over a big construction project…I wonder what that says about me. Hmmm…
Wishing you all a Happy New Year. Here's to a wonderful 2011 full of many memorable events and ordinary moments, too. Cheers!
I love that you have stuck with this for 3 years. Will you continue? I think I fizzled out within the first week of doing it and I am sad about that. I know I forget too much.
Happy New Year dear friend!!
Happy New Year! I think they are pretty relaxed and welcoming, comfortable photos, perhaps you are the same? You eat basically healthily, are not houseproud but clean and hospitable and friendly. Am I right? Or not? I would love to know…cheers!
I want to do it this year! First time! Wish me luck!
La beauté du temps qui passe…beautifull!
Happy new year!
I am going to attempt a 4th year – at this point, it's a habit. But I am also giving myself permission to let it go if I am not feeling it.
Here’s to ordinary moments. Yours are beautiful. Thank you for sharing them Erin. Best wishes for all good things in 2011 and beyond. xo
what a nice thing to say! thanks.

you can do it, Grace! and you will be so happy you did!

Happy New Year, Erin!
This is the year that I will stick to the 365.
I find that I lose touch with the beauty of everyday when I forget to keep the camera with me.
Your walk down memory lane is wonderful. I’m attempting the 365 photo project again this year. Last year, I started, missed a few days and then got overwhelmed and quit. I’m better established this year and am eager to get started. Photos like yours and Leslie’s really inspire me. Besides, I had a few of those lost memories recaptured through photos myself. They remind me that a day is filled with a whole lot of wonderful moments.
i’m with blair- can’t believe you’ve kept up with it so well, the 52 was such a struggle for me toward the end. but i agree with you so much, these little moments are SUCH a unique and personal chronicle of your days. they’re beautiful. happy new year, erin!

Happy new year, Erin! I’m stealing this idea for my blog. 2011 would be my third year of 365, but I need a break. I’m sure I’ll mostly keep up the habit, though I won’t find myself scrambling around some nights trying to find a photo to take. 😉

These are a great reminder that photos to have to be “spectacular” to be wonderful. That’s just what I needed as I make attempt #2 on 365. I think I lasted 3 weeks last year. Happy new year!
Happy New Year and just love your blog and all your photographs – such a great idea and look forward to dropping by over the year.

All beautiful. This is something I’ve always wanted to do–and haven’t had the nerve to start. What I love about everyday photos like these is how they trigger so many memories that lie just outside the frame.
I have a friend who’s taken 3 minutes of video of his boys every weekend since the first one was born–just turns on the camera for a bit, then turns it off–another thing I aspire to but never quite have managed.

i really like that video idea – and it's really much easier to do the 365 if you just let your expectations go. try it!

thank you ann!
i know exactly what you mean! i've done my fair share of scrambling, too.
well, i know i could never do the self-portrait 52 as well as you did, julia. never. you are such an inspiration.

thank you suzanne. good luck with your 365.
i know just what you mean – i think i would really miss the every day photos if i stop taking them. so here's to year 4!
Your everyday moments are great. I tried 365, but only made it a few months. I hope to do better this year! Happy new year to you.

Happy new year! Yoyr twelve months display looks lovely and a wonderful review of the year. I’ve just finished my first 365 year and am about to start my second, with my new camera! Best wishes for 2011.

one thing i love about this compilation of images is that i-myself-remember these moments of yours. could even fill in some of the backstory to them.
makes me realize how close i feel to you & my other “flickr friends” and how glad i am to have gotten to know you even a little bit more this year.
xo,
tara

De-lurking here to let you know that you and Leslie F. have TOTALLY inspired me to do this project. I started today. (I’m LGordon555 on Flickr.) THANKS for the continued inspiration. I look forward to your daily 2011. 🙂

Beautiful collection, Erin. You’ve inspired me to do the same in 2011. BTW – never did ask you if you liked the pastry wheel! 🙂
Happy 2011!

Happy 2011!
I wanted to clarify that I think these are all beautiful. I sometimes get hung up on the idea that each image has to be of some grand thing. The fact is that each piece of life is grand. I don’t think that came across well in my initial post.

for a set of “least” memorable, you have some pretty remarkable shots…just in the story they tell. think i love your recap the best of all i have seen.

That’s exactly why I’m doing it again. I want to document our life: the good, the bad and the ugly. I love these shots Erin!

Yay for the 365! What fun! Great recap. Starting a 365 this year and can’t wait to see our finished product. 🙂

Good for you, Erin! I sucked so badly at my 365 this year. I don’t know, somewhere along the way I fell out of love with my camera, but I missed it so. I’m back at it and recommitted. Happy 2011 to you 🙂

happy new year, erin! 3 years, huh? you are indeed inspiring me to be 365-ing this year. i have a feeling that most of my photos will be taken within our home (and not be terribly exciting to anyone but me!). i’m also trying to slow down more as i read my favorite blogs and actually type out the comments that are going on in my head!!!

i just love everyday types of photos that really show the evolution of life.
question: do you print these photos and put them in albums?

I love this. Very inspiring. I’ve seen 365s before, but I love this approach, it really feels like simple, distilled moments that anyone can relate to, but captured so lovely-y.
I love it. Awesome that you chose to post the moments that you don’t remember. Happy new year, friend!
just love this. scenes from a life. that’s what it’s really all about. July has me yearning for summer!
Thank you for this great idea…which lead me to In color order also and then I combined 365 with Every Day Love by Judy Ford…I am really going to enjoy this….I have been following and loving your blog for awhile now….

So cool that you stuck with it for 3 years! The boring photos are my faves, I love seeing other people’s day to day.

this is such a nice look back, erin. it makes me feel hopeful about this year of 365… i really want some way of capturing all those little bits that are so easily forgotten.
