I couldn’t stop with just one…
Isn’t this fabric great? I received it from roseandpie last month in exchange for a patchwork belt. Super swap if you ask me.
I used bias tape on the hem and for the tie this time around. I also increased the length of the skirt a wee bit to have a self-casing at the waist. So easy. Really, it was. If enough of you want instructions, I can add them to the twirly skirt tutorial.
I forgot to fold in the ends of the bias tape before I sewed it together for the tie. Instead of getting the stitch ripper out, I decided to tie little knots and pink the ends. And you know what? My mistake wasn’t a mistake after all. I love this little touch.
how could you stop at just one? if my sewing machine was working (!) i’d be making one RIGHT NOW!
and the fabric is awesome – the kind of thing that will match just about anything!
What a wonderful skirt! Is it wrong to want to make one for myself?! :0)This will be in my daughter’s futre, no doubt.
oh.my.gosh. that fabric is amazing! i love it with the yellow. amazing! ahhh!!
Beautiful fabric. Lucky girl that gets to wear that skirt!
I love when we perceive to make a mistake, and it’s not:)
Very summery! And kind of “retro” looking. I love it!
awesome fabric. And I love the little tie ends. Very cool.
Another very cute one! I plan on making my daughter one but since she wears a whopping size 160 in Hanna’s, I will need to increase the sizing. I’ll post a pic when I get it done! Thanks again for the tutorial.
So glad to see the fabric in use!Beautiful. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my belt. Thanks again.
I love the skirt. When I first saw that fabric I thought you had used an old quilt! The fabric is really cool.
Yay Erin. Thank you so much for taking the time to do the Twirly Skirt tutorial. I might try and do it this Long Weekend. It’s a toss-up between Taxes or a Twirly skirt :o)
I love the fabric on this one, too!
they keep getting cuter and cuter!!
Thanks for the tutorial. Love this one, the fabric is to die for!! Have a great Easter with the fam!
Oh its so, so pretty!
I adore this skirt very much. xo
saw your tutorial on CRAFT’s blog today. congrats! 🙂
Followed the link from the CRAFT blog- I don’t have any daughters (or any sons for that matter!) so I might just have to make one for myself! Doesn’t matter that I’m 27 does it?!
Wow just gets better and better!!!
hi! i just came to your blog from flickr and i love it!
it would be great and really generous if you could put a tutorial together.
oops! i can see that the tutorial is up, thank you so much!
Adorable fabric. Your girls are going to be the best-dressed gals on the playground!
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for this tutorial! You have made my day!!! 🙂
I love this material- it has a sentimental feeling for me. My mom, who passed away 5 years ago, made each of her children a quilt out of it. I would love to find some to make aprons for my sisters. Do you know where I can find any? Thanks.
Hi
I just wanted to drop a line to say a big thank you for the tutorial that you made of this skirt. I’ve had a go – my first foray into sewing for quite a while…it turned out great and has well and truly bitten me with the sewing bug once more.
