I think quilting should be considered a serious form of exercise. Maneuvering all that fabric is quite the workout! It’s slow going, but I am making progress. I was hoping to finish this week, but it doesn’t look likely. Next week then.

Hello I just blog hopped over from Wens blog. Your have some inspiration sewing on your blog. I can understand that it must be hard work to make the quilt.
I cannot wait to see it. Cannot wait.
Looks great, keep going. It is going to be amazing when it is done.
I also can’t wait to see it done !!!
Gorgeous. gorgeous. gorgeous. Should we make a wager that you’ll have it done by Monday?
It’s looking beautiful! I am very envious of your fabric stash looking at all the bits and pieces in this quilt!
that quilt is all kinds of gorgeous.
I love love love this quilt already. Such pretty colors..
I completely agree! I was just thinking that the other day. I have recently gotten one of my mom’s sewing machines that sews like a dream, but I do not have a table for yet, so it’s just a free arm. When I’m piecing the blocks together it’s crazy how long I’m holding my arm up with the fabric so that it doesn’t pull down from it’s weight. I cannot weight until I get an extension table for it. I just wish they were not so expensive!
Oh boy, you’re right, it IS a workout!! Good luck 🙂
Oh my gosh, I’m so excited to see the finished product! You are really getting me thinking about quilting, Erin.
As much fun as it is to sew together the quilt top, the quilting on the machine part really sucks. But again, it’s supposed to be faster than hand quilting….with a workout of, course! Keep going Erin!
It’s going to be sooo beautiful!
dude. what kind of foot do you use? i’m terrified to actually quilt cuz i’m afraid i’m totally gonna mess (ahem) it up.
those colors are grand. and i agree with you about the workout factor to quilting!
stop your inspiring photos and inspiring posts! i DO NOT need another hobby, and this one does not look budget-friendly!! 🙂
really erin, it’s amazing what you do. i love it all and so does everyone else. keep it up.
i can’t wait to see it done, and i’ll live vicariously through you.
It’s going to be lovely!
The aquas and pinks looks so fresh and lovely next to the white. If only knitting were exercise. Spinning might be, hmmm.
You can skip a couple of days at the gym now. I agree, quilting is definitely an upper-body workout.
Beautiful quilt = gorgeous arms? I don’t see the problem!
Quilt wrestling…a new Olympic sport maybe?
I’ve finally caught up on my bloglines and your last 20+ posts (!!)
Love everything you’ve been up to. Looks like your summer is going swimmingly. Still trying to find our “summer rhythm.” We’re going on vacation next week, so maybe after that it will materialize 🙂
Oh, it’s going to turn out great, I just know it! And yes, machine quilting is moderately aerobic. I always feel awkward squishing and rolling and wrestling with the lovely quilt top that I’ve spent hours putting together–like it deserves better treatment than that…
I can’t wait to see it finished… it is already so beautiful…
go mama go! It’s going to be so gorgeous! I’m all twitchy with anticipation!
Hang in there… you will get it! Gotta love the Bernina though. Are you quilting with a walking foot or free motion? I have pretty good luck with small quilts on the Bernina with the walking foot.
It looks beautiful all ready!
Oohh! Love the fabric!
there’s always a next week- keep up the great work!
i agree! 🙂
Beautiful! Can’t wait to see the finished quilt!
It is so exciting seeing all of that fabric under the machine. I can’t wait to see the finished result!
looks great! I have those tired arms time to time too – so rewarding =)
Looks beautiful already!
I can’t wait to see the finished product!!!! Machine quilting does build some muscles, doesn’t it?
…but what an amazing quilt you now have. it’s beautiful erin.
i can’t wait to see the finished quilt! it is so beautiful!
are you finished?
can’t wait to see!
I’m loving that backing fabric. YUM.
I’m with you there! I worked on machine quilting my son’s quilt over the weekend and my arms were killing me. Love the colors on your quilt, so fun and colorful.
Next week, then. After all, you had a house full of people last night! 🙂 Which rocked. Thank you!
You are quite simply the quilting queen…
ps am feeling guilty ’cause I’ve sent nothing in the way of sheet scraps. So you have a time frame?
x
wow that’s going to be such a nice one!
Your quilt looks great. How do you keep the back from bunching when you quilt if you are just basting with safety pins? I’m trying to get away from the spray to baste but when I try pins the back always bunches. Thanks!
I can’t wait to see the finished quilt!
It’ll be worth it, that quilt looks gorgeous, I hate machine quilting! it makes me achy, sweaty, and sweary!
I just found your blog through JC Handmade – what a gorgeous quilt! I’ve had fun reading about your sewing adventures. 🙂
