I have started this post about four times – the words just aren’t flowing today. I made this top for our friend, Tate, who was visiting with her parents and brother this weekend. We had a great weekend, lots of fun with good, good friends. I managed to squeeze in sewing this top. Tate picked out the fabric and she looked through a couple of books and photos and chose this style. Using the serger to finish seams and edges really sped it along.
My sewing machine is acting up and I just had the tension adjusted on Thursday. Back to the shop it goes. It’s aggravating, but probably a good thing. This house needs to be cleaned and I really would rather sew. Looks like the choice has been made for me. Hope you all had a fun weekend too.
The top (and it’s model) are so sweet! So sorry to hear you’re being forced by fate to clean! Tragic š
so sweet- the fabric is perfect! one of these days i’ll try it, i swear! š
Sorry to hear that you’re machine is’nt feeling well. Mine is acting up too, so I feel your pain!
Lovely little top and model. I hear you with the cleaning – I get so absorbed in my sewing something has to physically stop me!
great top! love the colors. that gals got great taste! did this top urge jane to wear hers? sometimes peer pressure is a good thing!
Love the material and style for your sweet little model. She knows her style.
Oh that top is adorable on that cutie. And I do hope your machine returns in good health soon. Once the house is clean, of course.
Cute top!
Welcome to the no-sewing machine club. Mine’s going in this morning and will be gone until who knows when.
Oh, and I’m cleaning my house – with blog breaks inbetween…
it’s adorable! (so is the model)
sorry to hear your machine is acting up again. So frustrating! I always feel better when I can do a good clean without the distraction of wanting/needing to do something else. funny how it all works out.
And isn’t your hallway just painted the perfect color to complement that fashion shoot?
Great top and gorgeous fabric — I must know more! Where is it from (i. e. how can I get some)?
Beautiful fabric and design.
It’s so hard to clean when there’s so much fun to be had otherwise!
I really like the green she chose.
oh, it’s beautiful! I love that green on her…stunning.
i think it took me two hours to finally get my post finished this morning–lots of interruptions.
hope that sewing machine is fixed quickly. sorry it had to go back to the doctor!
Stunning top! The color is gorgeous on her.
Sorry your machine is acting up. Enjoy your no-sew days!
Very pretty top—I love that fabric… and what a cute little girl, too!
I’ve found it’s a good thing when a choice is made FOR you sometimes!
Ooo, I love that fabric. And isn’t Tate just cute!
Oh!!! I just love it. I want it for myself. You are so talented! I like the everything you’be made for your girls and that top for yourself a while back. Have you thought about trying to engineer a pattern for today’s top for yourself? If so, will you share? Pretty please!
P.S. I’d love to know where the fabric came from too…
Lucky Tate š
My house could do with a broken sewing machine as well ;))
so annoying when you want to sew but your machine doesn’t….I love that photo, the top is beautiful, I still have to do some of that shirring!
Cute top and fabric!
What a lovely photo – summer ready in that beautiful top!
The perfect answer to a daughter who won’t wear the clothes you make… a friend’s daughter who will! The shirt looks adorable on her.
Ohhh, I love this darling top! You have to go post it on Anna Maria Horner’s flickr group! She’d get a kick out this! Cute girlie, too! š
Erin you really are so talented, the top is lovely. I still haven’t made one yet. But school is almost out 1 week to go…then I’ll get on it.
BTW…I love the green paint on your walls.
Hi there- Just found you through Ashley’s Closet. LOVE this top! I’ve done a few for myself this summer, but purchased the fabric already smocked at the top. Did you find this fabric already smocked ot did you smock or pin-tuck it yourself? If you did it yourself I would LOVE to know how you did it. Please share!
Thanks!
So cute! That fabric is awesome.
Erin, you did a gorgeous job on that top! I made one similar for myself a while back with the same fabric š
You need to upload that to my flickr group for the Chocolate Lollipop collection š
